Living in Corona
Corona is known as the Circle City for Grand Boulevard, the roughly one-mile-wide circular road that rings its historic downtown. The city sits in western Riverside County against the Santa Ana Mountains and Cleveland National Forest, with Norco to the north, Riverside to the east and the Orange County line to the west. Neighborhoods near the circle and along Main Street have the oldest homes on traditional city lots, while most of the rest of Corona was built out from the 1980s through the 2000s.
For commuting, State Route 91 runs west into Orange County, and the 91 Express Lanes now extend into Riverside County as far as I-15, with the 241 toll road connecting just across the county line. I-15 runs north toward Ontario and south toward Temecula, and SR-71 heads to Chino and Pomona. Metrolink stops at two stations, Corona–North Main and Corona–West, on the 91/Perris Valley and Inland Empire–Orange County lines, and Ontario International Airport is a short drive up the 15.
South Corona and the Temescal Valley along I-15 hold most of the newer master-planned housing. Dos Lagos is built around a golf course, two man-made lakes and an outdoor shopping center, and Eagle Glen climbs into the foothills around its own golf club. Homes in these areas often carry HOA dues and Mello-Roos special taxes. North and west of downtown, Corona Hills and Sierra del Oro offer established streets and mature trees closer to the 91.
Most of Corona is in Corona-Norco Unified School District, with an eastern section served by Alvord Unified. Corona Regional Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente medical offices are in town. Outdoors, the Skyline Drive trail climbs into the Santa Ana Mountains, Glen Ivy Hot Springs is in the Temescal Valley, and Chino Hills State Park lies just to the northwest.
Corona neighborhoods & communities
Downtown and Grand Boulevard
Inside and around the Grand Boulevard circle you'll find Corona's oldest homes on traditional lots, the historic South Main Street palms and nearby access to the Corona–North Main Metrolink station. Buyers come here for character and renovation potential.
Corona Hills
Northeast of downtown on the slopes above the 91, Corona Hills is the city's largest neighborhood by area, with established tract homes, curving streets and valley views from the higher lots.
Sierra del Oro
On Corona's far west side near the Orange County line, Sierra del Oro has established single-family streets and some of the quickest access in the city to the 91 westbound.
Dos Lagos
Built around two man-made lakes and the Dos Lagos Golf Course off I-15 in South Corona, with attached and detached homes next to The Shops at Dos Lagos, an open-air center with restaurants and a movie theater.
Eagle Glen
At the city's southern edge in the foothills, Eagle Glen wraps around the Eagle Glen Golf Club with larger single-family homes, hillside lots and Eagle Glen Park. Many homes here pay HOA dues.
Temescal Valley
South of the city along I-15, the Temescal Valley is unincorporated Riverside County but uses Corona mailing addresses in ZIP 92883. It includes newer master-planned communities such as Sycamore Creek, where Mello-Roos taxes are common, plus Glen Ivy Hot Springs.
Buying a home in Corona
Corona homes vary a lot from one side of the city to the other, so decide early which commute matters most: the 91 into Orange County or the 15 toward the rest of the Inland Empire. In South Corona and the Temescal Valley, ask for the HOA budget and the Mello-Roos (CFD) tax amount before you write an offer; together they can move your monthly payment more than a small difference in price. For older homes near downtown, budget for inspections of the sewer line, roof and electrical panel. Jorge can compare loan programs side by side, including first-time buyer options.
Selling a home in Corona
Corona draws buyers looking for a manageable drive to Orange County, so lead your marketing with location: time to the 91, the nearest Metrolink station and what is within a few minutes of your street. If your home is in an HOA or Mello-Roos area, have the dues and tax figures ready so buyers can compare payments quickly. Homes near Grand Boulevard benefit from showing original details alongside updates, with permits in hand. Price from sales in your own neighborhood, not a citywide average. Ask Jorge for a free, current market report and a modern listing plan.

The 241 toll road also connects near the county line. Drive times vary widely by hour, so test your route at rush hour before you buy.
